2007: A Great Year in Iraq

Al-Qaeda out, troop deaths down as "Surge" works

The Iraqi interior ministry lauded its achievements over the past year on Saturday, saying that 75 percent of Al-Qaeda's networks in the country had been destroyed in 12 months.

Ministry spokesman Abdul Karim Khalaf also outlined sharp falls in the numbers of assassinations, kidnappings and death squad murders.

He told a news conference that increased patrols along the borders with Saudi Arabia and Syria had slowed infiltration by militants and played a key role in Iraq's improved security situation.

"We have destroyed 75 percent of Al-Qaeda hide-outs, and we broke up major criminal networks that supported Al-Qaeda in Baghdad," he said.

"After eliminating safe houses in Anbar province, which used to be Al-Qaeda's base, we moved into areas surrounding Baghdad and into Diyala province. Al-Qaeda headed north and we are pursuing them," he said.

Khalaf said kidnappings were down 70 percent and that an average of three to five people killed by death squads were being found each day in Baghdad compared with 15 to 20 a day in February.

Personnel with militant or criminal links had been weeded out from Iraqi security forces, he said, adding that Sunni-US alliances against Al-Qaeda had also significantly contributed to the drop in violence.

The dropping death toll of American soldiers also gives proof that the surge started in the summer of 2007 has worked spectacularly.

According to icasualty.org there were 14 American soldiers killed in hostile action in Iraq, down from 120 earlier in March of 2007.

“Every trend we watch is down roughly about 60 percent: civilian deaths, numbers of attacks, and thankfully our casualties are down as well,” Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, commander of Multinational Force Iraq, said on “Fox News Sunday.” “As we go into the new year, we clearly want to build on the momentum that has been achieved by our forces working closely together with Iraqi forces.”

Petraeus said Iraqi forces also had a surge this year, with 110,000 new Iraqi soldiers and police.

Petraeus appeared on the morning news program to discuss the release of this week’s quarterly report, “Measuring Stability and Security in Iraq.” With the success of the surges comes the question of reducing the number of U.S. forces in Iraq while maintaining the positive trends, he said.

“We want to reduce the strain on our ground forces as much as we can while recognizing that what has been achieved here remains tenuous and is still fragile in a number of areas,” the general said. “We have laid out a plan that will take us through the end of July, and it will result in the reduction without replacement of about one-quarter of our combat forces.”

Petraeus was cautious about committing to further troop reductions and reiterated that al Qaeda remains a significant threat. “Al Qaeda remains a very dangerous and very lethal organization, and it is one that will continually try to reconstitute and one that we must pursue tenaciously and relentlessly, and that is what we and our Iraqi partners are doing,” Petraeus said.

Huckabee Rally in Orlando

Republican presidential front-runner Mike Huckabee was in Orlando December 27 at a rally attended by about 200 supporters from central Florida.

One of the highlights of the rally happened before Huckabee's arrival, when Florida state senator Dick Langley, a campaign chairman for Mitt Romney in Lake County, tore off his Romney lapel sticker and replaced it with a Huckabee sticker.

"I wanted a candidate who stood where I stood on the issues," Langley said later. "And I couldn't figure out where Mitt stood."

There was also a pre-event skirmish when a hoard of Ron Paul supporters tried to crash the Huckabee rally. After a confrontation between Huckabee supporters and the Paul supporters, airport security ran off the party crashers and peace and harmony was restored.

Huckabee and his wife Janet arrived later to an energetic crowd and Van Halen's "Right Now" blaring from some speakers. He spoke for about 20 minutes, took some questions from the press, and then hung out for several minutes before leaving on his jet to Destin, FL.

Bhutto Dies, Pakistan in Uproar

Photos from AP

It may be shocking, but take a good look at the photo to the the left.

This is what Islam, the "Religion of Peace", looks like.

The suicide bomber who caused this damage killed Pakistan's opposition leader Benazir Bhutto (also pictured to the left) and around 20 others.

Now the already turbulent situation in Pakistan is quickly worsening and threatening the promised January elections.

Add to this situation that Pakistan has nuclear weapons that could fall into terrorist hands if a full-scale breakdown of law and order occurs and you have a recipe for a disaster of international scale.

What's happening in Pakistan should remind everyone of why Islamic countries should not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

Stopping Iran and Syria from developing nuclear weapons has to be a top priority of the United States and the rest of the free world, even if it means keeping the option of using military force on the table.

The free world depends on a large part on nuclear-free Islamic countries.

Christmas Eve... The Story of Christ's Birth

Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth.

This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.

And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child.

While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.

And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night.

And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
"Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men
with whom He is pleased."

When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, "Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us."

So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.

When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child.

And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.

The shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told them.

Man-Made Global Warming Consensus Debunked

read the full U.S. Senate report here

The U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works has released a startling study debunking the "consensus" doctrine that has gripped the global warming religion.

Hundreds of accredited scientists, many of whom were part of the U.N.'s IPCC report on global warming last year, have now officially become deniers of man-made global warming and are urging the governments of the world to spend their time and money on other more important issues.

Here's a few excerpts:

Dr. Nathan Paldor, Professor of Dynamical Meteorology and Physical Oceanography at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem: "First, temperature changes, as well as rates of temperature changes (both increase and decrease) of magnitudes similar to that reported by IPCC to have occurred since the Industrial revolution (about 0.8C in 150 years or even 0.4C in the last 35 years) have occurred in Earth's climatic history. There's nothing special about the recent rise!" Paldor told EPW on December 4, 2007. "Second, our ability to make realizable (or even sensible) future forecasts are greatly exaggerated relied upon by the IPCC."

Physicist Dr. Gerhard Gerlich, of the Institute of Mathematical Physics at the Technical University Carolo-Wilhelmina in Braunschweig in Germany, and Dr. Ralf D. Tscheuschner: "The horror visions of a risen sea level, melting pole caps and developing deserts in North America and in Europe are fictitious consequences of fictitious physical mechanisms, as they cannot be seen even in the climate model computations. The emergence of hurricanes and tornados cannot be predicted by climate models, because all of these deviations are ruled out. The main strategy of modern CO2-greenhouse gas defenders seems to hide themselves behind more and more pseudo explanations, which are not part of the academic education or even of the physics training."

Dr. Boris Winterhalter, retired Senior Marine Researcher of the Geological Survey of Finland and former professor of marine geology at University of Helsinki: "To state that sea level rises or falls due to global change is completely out of proportion. There are far too many factors affecting this planet from the inside and the outside to warrant the idea that man is capable of influencing these natural processes..."

The U.S. Senate report is very lengthy and has links to all the research papers done by the 400+ scientists who have declared the man-made global warming crisis a myth, pure fiction, and falsification.

The global warming bubble is going to pop soon; let's hope it does before the liberals do serious damage to our economy, our country, and our way of life.

City Hall Christmas Display

more pictures from Holly Hill

The city of Holly Hill, FL is bucking the politically correct trend and still puts up a great Christmas display every year.

There have been protests from liberals and others in Holly Hill who do not understand the concept of religious freedom in our country and who mistakenly believe that the First Amendment somehow prohibits the display of Christian symbols on public property.

The nearby cities of Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach have given in to the politically correct crowd and now have "Holiday Parades" and "holiday decorations" throughout their towns. They snubbed their noses at the traditions and culture of America that are grounded in Christianity.

Thank God that there are still towns and cities like Holly Hill around to keep Christmas safe for another year!

More Alarmism: UN Warns of Food Shortages

The United Nations is at it again, this time warning of dangerous food shortages because of global warming and rising oil prices.

There is "a very serious risk that fewer people will be able to get food," particularly in the developing world, said Jacques Diouf, head of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

The source article for this story cites all kinds of statistics to prove that we are in danger of a global disaster that will of course hit the poor nations the hardest.

Besides global warming and high oil prices, they blame the tightening food supply on the increasing number of "upwardly mobile meat-eaters" and the diversion of grains from the food supply into bio-fuel production, such as ethanol.

Over the years the UN and other liberal and Marxist groups have warned of global starvation and wars over food supplies in an effort to get the prosperous countries of the world to give money to poor countries.

What those poor countries need isn't food, it's freedom. The people need to be free to work, farm, start businesses, and trade their goods and services without the tyranny of high taxes and government interference.

But the poor countries are run by dictators, military thugs, and Marxists who only use their power to make themselves wealthy and are not accountable to the people they rule with an iron fist.

Because of their love for big government, the UN and other liberals try to address the symptoms of liberalism (poverty, racism, poor health, etc.) instead of the cause: big government, high taxes, lack of economic opportunity, and lack of personal freedom and liberty.

TownHall Column: Huck Finned by USA Today

This is a great column by Ken Connor on TownHall.com:

In his newfound role as "front-runner", Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is the subject of increased scrutiny by the media. For many in the secular media, Huckabee's prior role as a minister is of far greater concern than his prior role as governor of the State of Arkansas. (A preacher as President? Heaven help us!) Consequently, Huckabee has been the candidate among the Republican wannabes who has had to field most of the tough "God questions" during their debates.

Without a doubt, the intersection of faith and politics is one that requires careful navigation. This is particularly true in America, where our founding fathers worked hard to ensure that religious freedom was preserved for their descendants. For many, religious liberty is the "first right" and liberty of conscience has always been highly prized in these United States. The Framers of the Constitution refused to establish a national church. Conscience was deemed to be a private domain where government had no right to intrude.

Sen. Lieberman to Endorse McCain Monday

Wow! Lieberman endorses McCain.

Does this say more about Lieberman or McCain?

Climate Change Conference Ends; End of World Near!

The UN conference on climate change, hosted in Bali, is thankfully over and the only accomplishment to speak of was the emitting of hundreds of thousands of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

According to the AP story, there were no major agreements or breakthroughs, and the 200+ participants were bitterly divided and acrimonious. At one point, Dutch representative Yvo de Boer (a real Alan Alda type), pictured on the left, actually broke down in tears because of the bitter wrangling over minor details in reaching a consensus deal.

According to the AP: "The new deal does not commit countries to specific actions against global warming. It simply sets an agenda and schedule for negotiators to find ways to reduce pollution and help poor countries adapt to environmental changes by speeding up the transfer of technology and financial assistance."

The AP story tried to put their best spin on the overly-hyped climate change conference in it's lead paragraph: "World leaders overcame bitter divisions Saturday and agreed to reach a new deal on fighting global warming by 2009, turning a corner in mankind's race to stave off environmental disaster caused by rising temperatures."

So the basic consensus deal reached by these liberals, Marxists, dictators, and fascists is to keep negotiating until industrialized countries like the US, Japan, China, and Australia submit themselves to the "global warming" religion and give up the economic freedom that drives their prosperous countries.

Just like the internet bubble of the 90's, the global warming bubble is ready to burst and these goof balls are trying to get as much out of it for themselves as possible at the expense of the USA and other industrialized countries.

Do You Remember These Images From 9/11?

Most of us haven't seen any actual footage of the 9/11 attacks since the week of 9/11.

The liberal media would rather have us forget that we have a Islamic fascist enemy that would like to destroy our American culture, and that 9/11 was just one of many attacks that has been perpetrated against our country.

9/11 taught us that we can't ignore threats from outside our borders. Even great conservative leaders like Reagan and Thatcher failed to respond appropriately.

The Bush Doctrine of preemptive military action is appropriate when all other avenues of diplomacy have failed. Remember these images from 9/11 and support our troops!

Mother of Heisman Trophy Winner Refused Abortion Recommendation

original story source

University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow became the first sophomore in the history of the NCAA to win the coveted Heisman Trophy as the best football player in the nation.

However, Tebow's accomplishments may never have been supported had his mother followed a doctor's recommendation to have an abortion. With 29 passing touchdowns and 22 rushing touchdowns, Tebow displayed the kind of versatility that has become more valued at the quarterback position.

Pam Tebow and her husband were Christian missionaries in the Philippines in 1985 and they prayed for "Timmy" before she became pregnant.

Unfortunately, as the Gainesville Sun reports, Pam entered into a coma after she contracted amoebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by a parasite found in a contaminated food or drink.

The treatment for the medical condition would require strong medications that doctors told Pam had caused irreversible damage to Tim -- so they advised her to have an abortion.

As the Sun reported, Pam Tebow refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the devastating disabilities physicians predicted.

Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and, eventually, gave birth to a health baby boy in August 1987.

As she told the newspaper, Pam was not surprised that her son would be up for the Heisman despite no underclassman receiving the award since its inception in 1933.

"The combination of Timmy's God-given talent, hard work, character and leadership have made a mark on and off the football field," she said.

As prominent researcher Joel Brind writes in a new LifeNews.com editorial, doctors are frequently telling women they should consider abortions when confronted with various medical situations affecting their health.

Yet, as he notes, physicians can successfully treat both mother and child without suggesting that the baby be killed to spare a mother's life.

Because Tim Tebow was spared, he's wowed a nation by his athletic skill and, at his younger age, has an opportunity to become the second person to win two Heisman awards.

Muslim Girl Killed by Father for Not Wearing Head Scarf

A 16 year old Canadian girl, Aqsa Parvez, was strangled to death by her father Monday for not wearing the hijab, the traditional Islamic head scarf. To the left are pictured two Muslim girls wearing hijabs.

According to her friends, Aqsa was having trouble at home because she did not conform to the family's religious beliefs, which included wearing hijabs, which the Muslims consider a sign of modesty for women.

"She wanted to go different ways than her family wanted to go, and she wanted to make her own path, but he (her father) wouldn't let her," one of her classmates told public broadcaster CBC.

"She loved clothes," another of her friends, Dominiquia Holmes-Thompson, told the daily Toronto Star. "She just wanted to show her beauty ... She just wanted to dress like us, just like a normal person."

According to her friends, Aqsa had worn the hijab at school last year, but rebelled in recent months.

They said she would leave home wearing a hijab and loose-fitting clothes, but would take off her head scarf and change into tighter garments at school, then change back before going home at the end of the day.

Aqsa's father has been arrested for murder and her brother charged with obstruction of justice.

This is another example of the hatred of the Islamic religion for women and children.

Islamic fundamentalists have no respect for the life, rights, or dignity of women and children.

To the left is a picture of women being beaten in Iran for wearing western clothing.

Interestingly, you can clearly see that most men in these situations wear modern western clothing, such as the man in the lower right of the same picture.

Jehovah's Witnesses Cover Up Child Molestation

NBC's coverage of this problem

How about those nicely dressed Jehovah's Witness families going through your neighborhood passing out Watchtower magazines and urging you to "study the Bible" with them?

That family-friendly image they present is a tremendous facade behind which are tolerated some of the most vile acts of deviancy known to man.

I was raised a JW and left in 1998. One of issues that got me to start re-evaluating my faithfulness to the JW organization was their insistence on covering up the many instances of child molestation that occur in their organization.

Like many other religions and cults, the JW's rely on their squeaky clean image to attract new followers, and any publicity regarding their child molestation problem would make bringing new people into their cult very difficult.

From my personal experience, I would say that the hundreds of JW molestation cases that have been publicized are just the tip of the iceberg, and I will go further in saying that every single JW elder and every congregation of JW's has covered up at least one child molestation case for the sake of their image and reputation.

NBC publicized the JW child molestation problem in late November, 2007. The case centered on Frederick McLean (pictured on the left), a JW and fugitive from justice for at least 17 counts of child sexual abuse in califronis.

The JW's believe that as the only God-approved organization on earth, the pastoral/ministerial authority granted them by their false god is a higher authority than that of the State.

Hence, the JW's believed for years that child-molestation cases should be handled in-house, leaving the perpetrators free to find more victims. And believe it or not, to privately warn parents in the congregations of the potential danger to their children was highly discouraged, if not permitted at all.

A quick examination of the JW's would lead you to conclude that they are not a child-friendly religion:

*Blood transfusions for children are not permitted, even when the child's life is in grave danger
*Playing with non-JW children, wearing certain haircuts, and listening to modern secular music is highly discouraged
*Children are not allowed to celebrate their own birthdays, Christmas, Easter, or Halloween.
*Participating in school sports, clubs, proms, summer camps is highly discouraged.
*Until very recently, JW teenagers were highly discouraged from going to college or furthering their education beyond high school, in many cases not even being allowed by their parents to take the SAT's
*Patriotic activities like saluting the flag, singing the national anthem, participating in Scouts or other community volunteerism, and joining the military and voting is prohibited.

Not surprisingly, a cult as hostile to the outside world as the JW's are has a lot of home schoolers, which further isolates their kids from any contact with the real world. (This is not a reflection on the many fine Christian families that home school their children.)

The JW's are a very secretive cult that uses psychological and social isolation to keep it's members in line. That isolation is a protective layer of security that makes finding and prosecuting JW child molestors almost impossible, since the victims and their families believe that any disloyalty to the JW's will cost them their favor with God, their prospect for eternal life, and could result in them losing the only family and friends that they know.

So instead of admiring those nice families as they walk down the street in their suits and dresses distributing their Watchtower literature, feel sorry for these trapped people, especially the kids.

Coast Guard Announces Record Drug Seizures

The Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard announced today a record year for cocaine seizures with 355,755 pounds seized, worth more than $4.7 billion.

"From piracy to rum runners to illegal migrant smugglers, the Coast Guard has been continuously guarding our coasts and securing our borders since 1790," said Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Thad Allen. "Today, drug smugglers are resorting to riskier, more desperate tactics in an attempt to evade detection and interdiction at sea. More and more, we are seeing that they can run but cannot hide"

* In September, the Coast Guard and its partners interdicted a vessel loaded with 3,600 gallons of cocaine dissolved in diesel fuel, a technique used by smugglers to avoid detection. The liquid cocaine could be converted into 15,800 pounds of pure cocaine.
* In August, Coast Guard, Navy and Customs and Border Protection crews interdicted and boarded a self-propelled, semi-submersible vessel loaded with an estimated $352 million of cocaine.
* The Coast Guard made its largest maritime cocaine seizure when it intercepted the Panamanian vessel Gatun carrying more than 33,500 pounds of the narcotic -- or approximately 20 tons -- in March 2007.

"With successful maritime interdiction efforts, drug smugglers are forced to resort to more dangerous and expensive tactics," said Cmdr. Robert Watts, chief, Coast Guard drug and migrant interdiction. "The more we push them to adopt extreme measures, the more difficult we make it for them to succeed."

Another major trend has drug smugglers increasingly turning to Pacific routes to traffic cocaine, as effective and aggressive enforcement efforts have all but shut down major routes in the Caribbean.

In the face of new routes and new tactics by smugglers, partnerships are a critical component of the Coast Guard's interdiction successes. New tools are extending the Coast Guard's law enforcement authority to targets that were previously out of reach. Bilateral agreements negotiated with 26 Caribbean and South American nations allow the service to conduct operations and stop illegal smuggling far outside U. S. territorial waters with suspected smugglers operating on foreign-flag vessels. Dramatic improvements in intelligence and information sharing among international and interagency partners have also strengthened anti-smuggling efforts.

"On behalf of the President and the American people, I commend the Coast Guard and its interagency partners for a record-breaking rate of seizures on the high seas," said John Walters, Director of National Drug Control Policy. "Every load of drugs seized represents that much less that can be used to poison our young people and harm our nation. Thanks to the brave efforts of these men and women, the cocaine market in the United States has been significantly disrupted and lives are being saved as a result."

While the Coast Guard is the nation's leading maritime law enforcement agency, drug interdiction is an interagency effort. Through federal partnerships the Coast Guard is able to make significant gains in keeping illegal drugs out of our country and the profits out of the drug dealers' hands.

Remember Pearl Harbor Day

Detailed time line leading to Pearl Harbor

Photos from Pearl Harbor

Video: Pearl Harbor Survivors

Sixty-six years ago the Japanese navy struck the American Navy at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in a sneak attack that severely damaged America's naval power in the Pacific.

The Japanese attack started just before 8 AM, catching the Naval base off guard and virtually defenseless.

Within a short time five of eight battleships at Pearl Harbor were sunk or sinking, with the rest damaged. Several other ships and most Hawaii-based combat planes were also knocked out and over 2400 Americans were dead.

Soon after, Japanese planes eliminated much of the American air force in the Philippines, and a Japanese Army was ashore in Malaya.

On December 8, the USA declared war on Japan. Within days, the USA was a full participant in World War II.

How did the United States and it's Navy become such an easy target for a long-range naval attack?

Isolationism

One of the main reasons is that the driving philosophy in foreign relations at that time was isolationism.

The USA, still reeling from the Depression of the Thirties, felt that what was happening in Europe with Germany and Italy, and in the Pacific with Japan, was not it's concern.

Just as darkness cannot tolerate light, evil governments like Germany, Italy, and Japan could not let the USA, still a world power and bastion of liberty and freedom, remain as it was.

From Pearl Harbor, and later the attack 60 years later on 9/11 by Islamic fascists, we learn that the world is too small for us to tolerate evil.

The New Direction

We do not live in a bubble. The loss of freedom and respect for life anywhere in the world affects everyone and diminishes our humanity.

Our foreign policy today has to come from our respect for life and the extension of liberty and freedom to all.

Despite what the liberals say, we have the moral high ground, and an obligation to do what is necessary to spread freedom and liberty and stand up to the dark evil forces that are trying to destroy our way of life.

This means that we must win the current war on Islamic fascism that was brought to our shores even before 9/11. Unlike WWII, this is a war that will take decades to win.

Not fighting this war will result the spread of the hateful Islamic ideology throughout the world and the loss of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness that God has endowed on all his creation.

Just as it was at Pearl Harbor, the USA today is the last and greatest firewall in stopping the flames of evil that seek to destroy all that is good.

Record Snow in US While Bali Hosts Global Warming Conference

Portland, Maine tied a 1890 record for snow Monday, receiving 8.5 inches while Marshfield in Washington County had 18 inches of snow, Lakeville in Penobscot County 17 inches, Island Falls in Aroostook County 16, Brassau Lake near Moosehead 15.7, Farmington 14.7 inches and Andover 13, the weather service said.

Meanwhile, The National Weather Service says the Grand Forks airport had 8.1 inches of snow yesterday, setting a record for the date. And Fargo set a record with 5.9 inches.

The previous mark in both cities was set back in 1926.

Grand Forks and Fargo also had record snowfall last Saturday.

All this record snow is falling while the UN hosts a global warming in Bali, Indonesia.

The conference will primarily focus on the USA and China as the biggest global warming contributors. The international community, led by the UN, is trying to strong-arm the USA into signing treaties that will force our country into meeting deadlines for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Ironically, in order to put on the conference, thousands of people have had to take jets to the remote Bali location, which has added hundreds of thousands of tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.

Such treaties will only hurt our economy, weaken our world-power status, and will do nothing to reduce "global warming", which is a natural process that is not influenced by human activity.

Global Government Activists Want $80 Billion

In its recent Human Development Report, the United Nations has suggested that industrialized countries should give poor countries $80 billion to help the poorer nations cope with global warming.

Of this $80 billion, they want the USA to pay about $40 billion.

Columnist Cliff Kincaid explains it this way: "In order to provide the “new and additional” foreign aid, the report calls for exploring a range of “innovative financing options.” This is U.N.-speak for global taxes. Indeed, the report openly calls for carbon taxes and aviation taxes. It proposes a “Climate Change Mitigation Facility” to mobilize the $25 - $50 billion “needed annually” for developing countries."

The true goal of the global warming activists is to promote one world government through the United Nations.

As I stated months ago on conservativekids.net: "Since global warming is a "global issue", it will take a "global government" to fix the problem."

If the next president of the United States is a liberal, they will undermine the sovereignty of our country by handing over more power to UN and it's Marxist agencies.

As a result, our citizens, military, and economy will all be under the control of the UN to some degree.

Of course, it is starting out with small steps, like the pressure to sign the Kyoto Protocol, the Law of the Sea Treaty, or giving the UN $40 billion for the poor nations affected by global warming.

But these small steps are designed to weaken our country and make it easier to bring the USA under the control of the UN.

The next president of the USA has to have the resolve to strengthen our country, not weaken it. The sovereignty of the United States of America is at stake in the next election.

Conservatives have to win this battle for president, not only for the sake of the USA, but for the ability of any country to maintain its sovereignty and identity.

Robertson's Endorsement of Rudy Boosted Mike Huckabee

The best thing that Pat Robertson did for Mike Huckabee was to endorse Rudy Giuliani. Look at the poll numbers: Huckabee started a meteoric rise right after the Robertson endorsement.

Robertson's surprising move was so shocking to the evangelical community that they immediately looked for the candidate with the best Christian conservative values and settled on the only choice, Mike Huckabee.

Of course, the primary issue to most Christian conservatives is the abortion debate.

Robertson's endorsement of Giuliani shocked the religious right into realizing that their hard fought victories secured through Bush's two presidential terms and right-ward swing of the Supreme Court were now in danger.

Mike Huckabee, a former Baptist minister, is the only viable candidate whose pro-life record is beyond impeachment.

Thus, the Christian conservatives responded with one of the greatest grass-roots efforts in political history and propelled Huckabee into the top tier of the Republican presidential hopefuls and eventually into a competitive position nationally.

Add to this a persuasive campaign to push the Fair Tax, a sterling record as a Second Amendment believer, and a commitment to win the war on Islamic terrorism, and you have the most natural candidate for not only the right wing, but also for those of the libertarian mindset.

Interestingly, the blue-blood Republicans are lashing back at Huckabee because they fear a Christian conservative take over of their party.

Robert Novak has been especially vicious, not only taking swipes at Huckabee, but at the Christian right also: "Huckabee's surge is driven by the evangelical Christian vote within the Republican Party -- highlighting the risk the party undertook by embracing this voting bloc that is not necessarily a limited-government constituency."

How someone who is a proponent of the Fair Tax and wants to abolish the IRS, as Huckabee does, can be a "big government" guy and opponent of the "free-market line" as Novak contends is beyond belief. Dick Morris even wrote a column soon after titled "Mike Huckabee Is A Fiscal Conservative" dispelling some of the smears being perpetrated by Huckabee's detractors such as Novak and Ann Coulter.

Fair Tax supporters know that the Fair Tax will inherently limit the power of the Federal government just by nature of it's structure. The true power of the free market will be unleashed in the most powerful way since this nation's founding when people get their full paycheck and decide how much they are going to pay in taxes.

The truth is that Novak and his ilk don't really trust the free market and relish the control the government has through tax legislation and the power of the lobbyists on K Street. Thus their opposition to the most important legislation sitting in Congress today.

Despite their efforts, Robertson and Novak prove to be part of the old guard that has lost it's vision and sense of proportion.

The Christian right and the Fair Taxers will continue to fight for their underdog candidate and leave dinosaurs like Pat Robertson and Robert Novak in the past where they belong.

Political Correctness, Yes; Free Speech, No

The politically correct movement in America continues to run a muck.

Something as innocent as being painted in black face, like Al Jolson is in the photo to the left, has become a "hate crime".

The liberals in our great country are doing their best to undermine our freedom of speech by determining what language is acceptable and unacceptable, and who is allowed to use or not use certain words.

Instead of bringing unity, the proponents of political correctness continue to divide the country by classifying people according to race, sexual orientation, political ideology, social class, and national or ethnic origin.

Here's a couple items from this week that prove that "political correctness" is nothing more than an attempt to stifle free speech in America.

LaShawn Barber has a stinging essay on the uproar created by the NAACP and one of it's members, Gary Hines.

The controversy surrounds a 1939 play called Ten Little Niggers, renamed Ten Little Indians, and then renamed again And Then There Were None.

A 9 year old boy was suspended from an Arizona school for the "hate crime" of calling blacks "brown people".

If you read the full story, you'll find that the boy was coerced into using the phrase "brown people" by the mother of the boy he had a problem with, and she's a detention room officer at the very same school! Well isn't that convenient!

Talk show host Michael Savage is under attack from liberals and Muslims, particularly CAIR, for his diatribes against the cult of Islam.

CAIR is leading the charge to get Savage fired from his job, joining a growing movement that is taking aim at conservative talk radio.

If Hillary is elected in '08, don't be surprised to see the attack on talk radio ratcheted up, since it's the most powerful source of conservative ideology today.

Now the Dinner Table is Not Safe: The A-Salt on Our Freedom

The food and health Nazis have been aiming at smoking, fast food, trans-fat, and sweets for a while; now they are making a big push to get the government to regulate how much salt you should have in your diet.

The crux of their argument is that salt is killing 150,000 Americans a year, according to the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). According to their little liberal brains, the financial impact of all these people dying from too much salt on our health care system and government funded hospitals makes this a public policy issue.

Even if their estimate of 150,000 deaths is accurate, the real question that has to be answered is this: How far are we going to let the government and the Marxists who want to run America intrude into our personal lives, even telling us how much salt we should ingest?

Our Constitution provides no role for the Federal government to monitor, guide, or influence our personal choice in what we eat or drink. Despite this fact, the Federal government, through agencies like the FDA, Dept. of Agriculture, and HHS, has slowly been strangling our liberties in what has really been the second-to-last bastion of freedom: what we decide we should eat.

What happens if we decide to apply the CSPI's rationale to other areas of personal choice?

For instance, Julian Bond, the chairman of the NAACP, has written in the Washington Post: "The face of AIDS in the United States is primarily black as well. The majority of new HIV infections here are black, the majority of people who die from AIDS here are black and the people most at risk of contracting this virus in the United States are black."

Surely the thousands of blacks who contract HIV in the USA each year have a huge financial impact on our health care system and government run hospitals. Using the CSPI's rationale, wouldn't it make sense for the government to regulate the sexual activity of the black community? Perhaps registering blacks as accepted sexual partners, issuing sex licenses, or requiring a blacks to complete a Federally mandated course on sexual relations would be the answer.

Also, according the CDC: "In the U.S. during 2004, 4,767 teens ages 16 to 19 died of injuries caused by motor vehicle crashes. During 2005, nearly 400,000 motor vehicle occupants in this age group sustained nonfatal injuries severe enough to require treatment in an emergency department (CDC 2006)."

I guess the Federal government should now over-step its Constitutional bounds and not let 16-19 year old kids ride in cars. After all, 400,000 emergency room visits puts a tremendous financial burden on the public.

If either of these proposals were suggested in all sincerity by a consumer advocacy group, the public outcry and rage would be so intense as to spill out into the streets. Charges of racism, bigotry, and insensitivity would be heard from one coast to the other.

But the food and health Nazi's are patient. Just like a computer virus working it's way through your operating system, the Marxists will slowly work their way through the firewalls protecting our freedoms and liberties until we have to ask the government for permission to wipe our behinds and blow our noses.

In the meantime, pass the salt.....

Neal Boortz Explains the Fair Tax

The Fair Tax is a hot issue in the 2008 Presidential campaign and is part of the reason that Mike Huckabee has gained so much attention and momentum in recent months.

Unfortunately, some old blue-blood Republicans are attacking the Fair Tax, basing their opinion on bad data or outright lies.

Neal Boortz offers a short explanation of how the Fair Tax works and will restore our nations economy:

Last Thursday Townhall contributor Hank Adler published a column on this website entitled “A Hard Look At The Fair Tax (sic)”. Almost immediately the emails started pouring into my show – literally by the hundreds – urging me to post a response to Adler’s rather stinging critique of the FairTax.

Since Congressman John Linder, the author of H.R. 25, The FairTax Act, and I wrote “The FairTax Book” in 2005 we’ve seen an unprecedented and ever-growing nationwide interest in this tax reform idea. Let’s face it, you have to be doing something to capture the imagination of the American people to have a book on taxes debut No. 1 on The New York Times Bestsellers List. There are some, though not in what we call the mainstream media, who think that Governor Mike Huckabee’s embrace of The FairTax is an important element to his rise in the GOP presidential sweepstakes.

Bad Data from Temperature Stations and Global Warming

Did you ever wonder where they get the recorded data that scientists use to measure the earth's temperature?

This is an important question because they are using the "rise" in earth's temperature to prove that global warming is man-made and then use global warming as a political weapon against the USA and other industrialized countries.

If you live in the USA, your liberty and freedom is in danger from the global warming hysteria. Already, the Federal, State, and local governments are making small assaults on our freedom because they feel that our lifestyle in America is leading to global warming.

But the data that is being used to prove this global warming myth is flawed. Temperature recording stations such as the one pictured here are part of the formula that gives scientists the overall temperature of the earth.

Some of the temperature recording stations are near barbecue pits, trash burn barrels, airplane engines, tennis courts, parking lots, air conditioners, and other environments that distort the temperature being recorded in the station.

This results in inaccurate data, which leads to inaccurate conclusions about the real state of the earth's temperature.

Don't let liberals who want to use global warming as a way to take away our freedoms get away with this.

Share this information with your friends and family. Showing them the truth is the best weapon against the lie of man-made global warming.

Islam: The Religion of Hate

What happens to a girl who is gang-raped by six armed men in Saudi Arabia? You give her 200 lashes and six months in jail if your a conservative Muslim.

From the people of the "Religion of Peace" who brought you 9/11, beheadings of journalists, REAL torture of our captured American military, the riots over a Danish cartoon: now comes another example of their grotesque "justice" in their inhumane treatment of a 19 year old rape victim.

But what do you expect from religion founded by an obsessive-compulsive false prophet who killed thousands in cold blood because they wouldn't accept his twisted view of God? This is the same guy who lived off of rich older women until he became powerful enough to legitimize his desire to molest young girls.

Now his followers have slithered their way into every corner of the world with their "holy jihad" against western civilization and Israel. In mosques worldwide, even the USA, their mullahs and imams smear our society and help plot the eventual destruction of "infidel" governments.

Until they can actually get enough political juice to destroy us politically, they are content to just slaughter innocent people who are shopping, working, having dinner, or burying their dead. All in the name of their bastard god "Allah" and his pedophile prophet Muhammad!

Of course, Ron Paul, who actually has a fan base called "Christians for Ron Paul", wants us to try to understand that we, the Americans, caused the Islamic community to breed this blood-thirsty lot of wretched human beings; and that by understanding them, we can all work out our differences and we'll finally have peace!

Western culture is at worldwide war with Islam and it's henchmen.

Unfortunately, it will take some extreme acts of terrorism beyond the pale to wake the intended victims out of their apathy and to fight back.

Isolationism and non-interventionism will not work in this new age and new war that we are in.

Only by clearly identifying an enemy can you fight him, and only by choosing to use superior force can you defeat him.

For the sake of all the 19 year old girls out there, let's find the resolve to do both.

McCain, "the Bitch", and the V-Card

On November 12, a woman in South Carolina asked Sen. John McCain "how do we beat the bitch?", referring to Hillary Clinton.

There was much laughter, sophomoric giggling, and finally McCain responded that he respects Hillary, and that he respects anyone who has gets the nomination of the Democrat party.

Sean Hannity admired the Senator's response, saying that McCain avoided giving Hillary a chance to play her victim card again. Sean advised the Republicans to avoid any actions or language that would give Hillary the v-card opening, such as Rick Lazio's famous stride across the podium in their debate to hand Hillary a piece of paper.

Therein lies the problem that every male candidate faces, being tough on Clinton without giving her the ammo to play the v-card over and over again.

Hannity and McCain are wrong to think that going soft on Hillary is going to help them in this unprecedented battle of man vs. woman for President.

First of all, McCain should have said that using "bitch" in a public forum to describe a political rival is wrong, that it cheapens legitimate debate, and that he wouldn't use the word loosely in public himself.

Second, McCain and anyone who faces Hillary in the political arena has to have the courage to call Sen. Clinton on her use of the v-card every time she faces a challenge of her policies and political agenda.

Just as Reagan defused Carter in 1980 with his famous "There you go again..", the men who battle Hillary must be able to deftly point to her permanent victim card status and make no apologies later.

If Clinton wins the Democrat nomination, the battle of the sexes and political correctness that has brewed for the last 40 years in our culture is going to be center stage. If the Republican nominee is man enough to tackle this problem head-on, he will be able to get his issues on the stage and reduce Clinton's v-card to a consolation card in November of '08.

Iraq Vets Take on 'Myths' of Supply Problems

Contrary to what we hear from the MSM, the veterans of both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars are satisfied with their training, equipment, and supply lines.

The following article is from CNSNEWS.com..

Iraq Vets Take on 'Myths' of Supply Problems
By Nathan Burchfiel
November 12, 2007

(CNSNews.com) - Veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq on Friday rebutted perceptions that troops in the region were undersupplied during their stays and said troops now have the supplies they need to fight terrorists effectively.

"There actually were some pretty impressive things going on with the supply system," Maj. Jason Amerine, who served in Afghanistan immediately after Sept. 11, 2001, said during a panel discussion at the annual American Veterans Center conference in Washington, D.C.

"My experience was a system that worked very well, from ordering saddles in Texas that got dropped by airplanes ... to ordering other kinds of vehicles and equipment like that," Amerine said, acknowledging that "in the years that followed we found a supply system that was under a lot of stress."

Sgt. Jeremiah Workman, a Marine who fought in the second battle of Fallujah, said Marines are trained to fight with the equipment they're given and didn't think twice. "First of all, I wouldn't have known what was good gear and what wasn't good gear," he said.

"Over the last couple years we've really gone from this to that," Workman said, referring specifically to going from low-armored vehicles to heavily armored Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. "I think they're really looking out for the well-being of every service member."

Maj. Heidi Urben, a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, said knowing what equipment was needed was "not necessarily inquisitive in the very early days of the two campaigns" but that "for all our faults we can adapt and we can learn."

All the panelists agreed that the troops currently fighting on the ground in both countries now are well-equipped, well-trained, and improving their methods. "We still, I think, are trying to figure out what are the best solutions," said Urben, who moderated the discussion.

"We're definitely moving in the right direction as far as gear," Workman said, adding that Marines are motivated to accomplish their mission. "Motivation was not a problem, at least where I was in Fallujah - at all."

Amerine said whether or not success is reached in Afghanistan and Iraq is up to the leadership's dedication to keeping a strong troop presence in the region. "It isn't a question of whether the troops are capable of it," he said.

"I think our services are actually very good at counterinsurgency," Amerine said. "I disagree with this notion that there's this huge learning curve."

Veteran's Day: Correcting The Shame of the VA

Today is the day that we honor our veterans who have served our country defending America and protecting our rights and liberties.

Our rights and liberties are under attack in the USA from within and without. While our military fights the physical enemy that seeks to destroy America, the citizens of the USA who value their freedoms must fight a war of ideas and propaganda in their schools, town halls, State and Federal government, and the media.

The veterans of our armed services need to be treated better also. Ever since our Republic was established, the veterans who fought the good fight have been neglected and the promise and duty we have to them has been ignored.

It's time that we step up to the plate as our military has done and make new efforts to take care of their medical, psychological, and rehabilitative needs. The short-changing has to stop!

The solution is for the Federal government to set up a fund that provides these soldiers with the care they need from the private sector. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) must be abolished since it has proven woefully inadequate to care for the needs of the bravest and most deserving among us.

If there is any government agency that demonstrates the inadequacy of Federal bureaucracy in comparison to the proficiency of the private sector, the Department of Veterans Affairs is it. From bureaucratic waste to outright neglect of our veterans, the VA is an abomination and must be eradicated.

The scandal surrounding the conditions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center is just the tip of the iceberg; politics coupled with apathy has created a bloated vestigial structure that must be removed like an inflamed appendix (although you wouldn't want it removed by the VA!).

The measure of our gratitude for our veterans should not be parades, observances, or speeches. The greatest measure of our gratitude is seen in how we take care of those who have shown the courage and devotion to our country and are the "True Heroes" of our generation.

Write your senators and congressmen and demand that they rectify the deplorable way our government treats our veterans.

Surprise! Robertson Abandons Values, Endorses Giuliani

A lot of people were taken aback when Pat Robertson, the founder of the 700 Club and former presidential candidate, enthusiastically endorsed Rudy Giuliani for the republican presidential nomination.

Most people were surprised, some mortified, that a conservative evangelical like Robertson would support a liberal, pro-choice Republican such as Giuliani instead of a true conservative and former pastor like Mike Huckabee, or a supposedly conservative pro-life candidate like John McCain.

As a former pastor and one who has had close contact with dozens of pastors and ministers, I am not surprised at all, which is unfortunate.

As ministers like Robertson get older, especially in their last years, they tend to become a lot more liberal in their thinking and more willing to abandon their strict ideology and theology. What causes this is open to a lot of debate, but the trend for older pastors and ministers to adopt a more lenient view of important matters in their latter years is undeniable.

Robertson's endorsement of Giuliani so early is a huge disappointment to the conservative religious right, who feel that Robertson sold himself and the evangelical movement out. I agree with Robertson that in national security issues, Giuliani is a strong candidate, but can he really count on a pro-choice candidate to pick Supreme Court nominees like Scalia, Thomas, and Roberts?

The likelihood of Giuliani being able to nominate constitutional originalists to the Supreme Court is unlikely if he feels he has to bargain with a Democrat controlled Congress over other issues like the "war on terror", NSA matters, torture, and expansion of government entitlements. The Supreme Court will shift radically to the left during a Giuliani presidency, guaranteed.

I would prefer Giuliani as president over any of the Democrat candidates, but at this early stage, conservatives have few opportunities to keep the Republican party steering to the right, and Robertson just threw up a huge roadblock to that effort.

Wednesday's Hero: Lance Cpl. Nicholas Anderson

Lance Cpl. Nicholas Anderson lost his life after the Humvee he was riding in rolled over as a group of Marines pursued a suspicious vehicle near Jalalabad, Afghanistan. He suffered head injuries in the crash and died as he was being transported to a hospital.

Nicholas Anderson joined the Marines in January 2005 and began a six-month tour of Afghanistan two months ago with the 3rd Marines Weapons Platoon, his father, James Anderson said.

"I just know that he died fighting for what he believed in," he said. "He wanted to be a Marine and even though it was a major risk he just wanted to go."

James Anderson said his son, a 2003 Sauk Prairie High School graduate, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, lifting weights, going fishing and hanging out with friends.

He joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard when he was 18, but an injured shoulder forced him to drop out. He then enlisted in the Marines.

"I was very nervous when he first joined the Marines because two words jumped into my head: Afghanistan and Iraq," his father said. "I just supported him and prayed that it would end before he had to go over."

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

Yahoo News: Huckabee & Social Gospel

Yahoo News posted a great article about Mike Huckabee's passion for the Gospel and politics.

The author, Gail Russell Chaddock, goes into great detail how the young Baptist student eventually became the "dark-horse" presidential candidate that he is today.

The buzz surrounding Mike's campaign is especially note-worthy considering the hype surrounding Ron Paul's recent fund-raising record. Despite Ron Paul's daunting internet campaign, his campaign could best be described as a mile wide and an inch deep.

While Ron Paul's candidacy is only as sound as his supporters mental health, Huckabee is the genuine article in the grass-roots scene. The heightened interest of the main-stream media in this preacher-turned-governor is proof of the growing momentum in his message and campaign.

Dick Morris: Huckabee Can Win Iowa

Dick Morris' new column paints a rosy scenario for Mike Huckabee in the upcoming Iowa caucus.

He points out that Mike is trailing only Mitt Romney in Iowa while the rest of the "first-tier" candidates are losing ground. Of course, Romney is pouring millions into his Iowa campaign, while the Huckster is barely raising a million a month.

Huckabee is a consistent conservative and not a Johnny come-lately as Mitt is. Huckabee has great appeal and lacks the "plastic" quality that Romney exudes, and his truly grass-roots campaign is gaining momentum going into the most crucial period of the campaign.

While Mitt and Guiliani are getting some strong endorsements from the political and religious right, Huckabee continues to be the "dark-horse" that keeps surprising the experts.

Fred Thompson Ad: "Rights come from God"

Although I give Fred a 10% chance of winning the nomination, I think he would be a fine president if he got the nod. I think Huckabee has stronger credentials as a executive leader and that definitely gives him an edge over any senator or congressman.

Here's the ad that Fred is running, and we should hear more of this from all the conservative nominees:
